A message from our Polemarch

Greetings,

As Polemarch of the Orlando Alumni Chapter, it is my distinct honor to represent a brotherhood committed to achievement in every field of human endeavor and dedicated service to our community.

Located in the vibrant and diverse city of Orlando, our chapter proudly serves a region known not only for its world-renowned attractions, such as Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, but also for its strong neighborhoods, growing business community, and rich cultural landscape. Beyond tourism, Orlando is a city fueled by innovation, education, and civic engagement — and we are proud to play an active role in its continued growth.

The Orlando Alumni Chapter is committed to uplifting our community through mentorship initiatives, youth development programs, scholarship support, voter education, health and wellness awareness efforts, and strategic partnerships with local organizations. We believe meaningful impact happens through collaboration, and we work diligently to build bridges that strengthen families and empower future leaders.

Our service extends beyond events — it is a sustained commitment to progress, accountability, and positive change. Whether partnering with schools, faith-based institutions, nonprofit organizations, or civic leaders, we stand ready to collaborate in ways that make a lasting difference.

We welcome opportunities to connect, serve, and grow together for the betterment of Orlando and the communities we are privileged to support.

In Service and Leadership,

Daxton Barkley

Guide Right

Guide Right is the national youth service initiative of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., dedicated to the educational and occupational guidance of young people. It was first conceived in 1922 by Brother Leon W. Steward and adopted as the fraternity’s official service program at the 12th Grand Chapter meeting.

Guide Right places the training, experience, and mentorship of successful men at the disposal of youth who need inspiration, guidance, and support in career and life decisions. It also seeks to involve the community in understanding and addressing youth challenges as they pursue lives of achievement and service.

Guide Right focuses on several key objectives, including:

  • Inspiring leadership and service through cultural enrichment and character development.

  • Developing leadership skills and promoting academic excellence.

  • Improving self-esteem, social skills, and awareness among youth.

  • Supporting parents by providing mentorship and opportunities to discuss educational and life challenges.

  • Encouraging higher education and informing youth about scholarships, career paths, college resources, and vocational options.

  • Mentoring and college preparation, including guiding students through middle school, high school, and college application processes.
